Our Story
A local crew built on one gap in the market: honest estimates.
Founded in 2017 by Joshua DeHaas, DeHaas Building and Remodeling Co. exists to give South Central Pennsylvania homeowners quality craftsmanship without the inflated pricing.
How We Started
From part-time side jobs to a full-time crew.
Joshua DeHaas brings over 18 years of residential construction experience — roofing, siding, doors and windows, plus five years of interior finishing including drywall, flooring, and kitchen and bathroom projects. The business stayed part-time until 2026, when a friend's frustration with an inflated remodeling estimate convinced Joshua to commit to it full time.
Today he specializes in custom finish work — brick-veneer detailing and reclaimed wood refinishing among it — and still shows up on the job site for the projects DeHaas Building and Remodeling Co. takes on.
What Guides The Work
Quality. Honesty. Integrity.
Three words, applied the same way whether the job is a five-figure remodel or a single afternoon repair.
Equivalent craftsmanship, every project size
The standard doesn't move for a smaller job. Every project gets the same attention to detail.
Straight talk, even about the hard parts
When something isn't in our wheelhouse or a plan needs to change, you hear about it directly — not after the fact.
Transparent pricing, no unnecessary upsells
Materials carry a 10% markup that's refunded if unused. No pressure to buy more than the job needs.
Where We Specialize
Custom finish work is where DeHaas stands apart.
Beyond the standard remodeling scope, Joshua's background includes detailed custom finishes: brick-veneer accents, reclaimed wood refinishing, and built-in carpentry that's fitted to the room instead of ordered off a shelf.
